food for thought

I over heard one parent say to another parent today

'Well he is TOO confident, isn't he'

Made me think - is there such a thing as TOO confident, especially in this day and age of low confidence in children.

What do you reckon - can child be TOO confident?

I think there is confidence that becomes cockiness/over confidence and there is confidence that comes with modesty and a sense of the humble. It is one thing to be confident and have to make sure everyone knows about how good you are (which actually makes me think that sort of individual isnt that confident after all) and anotehr to be confident enough to just go about your business, assured of what you are doing and not having to make sure everyone knows about it.

So in those terms I prefer the more quiet type of confidence but people come in all guises...
