Yoshi's Island Dog Tag & Sericel

Apr 13, 2014 11:13

I have an official Yoshi dog tag that I got out of Nintendo's catalog around 1995 or 1996. I'm trying to get rid of the clutter around here, so I'd like to part with it. I know there are some collectors of Super Mario on my f-list, so I was wondering if someone might be able to help me figure out a price?

Here are some quick pics:

If I might ask, what is a sericel? :o

WHile I am a Super Mario collector, I seriously have no idea on the value of those. I am pretty much new to SMB collecting, only started a year ago...

Disney does sericels too, well the Disney one I have is called a serigraph and it features Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore and Piglet. Sericels are usually not 1 of a kind the way an animation cel is, but normally only a limited number are produced. The Yoshi's Island one I have, only 1,000 were made.

I thought of you earlier today when I found this:

I use to watch that cartoon too...:3

I have no idea on prices, but those are really neat. I always wanted to order something out of Nintendo's catalog when I was a kid.

I wanted every Yoshi thing they had, LOL!! My Dad told me I could pic two things and he would get them for me. Now the stuff just sits here neglected...:\

I don't remember if my mom wouldn't let me order from the Nintendo catalog (she never let me order from those TV infomercials because she thought they were a ripoff... and she was probably right about those), or whether the items were just too expensive.

I always wanted the Zelda items, especially the ocarinas. I still kind of regret not buying an ocarina, though I don't know what I would have done with it.

I'd agree with her there, most infomercials are a load of buffalo bagels. I recall the Nintendo catalog stuff being a tad pricy.

I have an ocarina, it came with a music book too. Mine came from a company that had advertised in Nintendo Power. I was trying to learn how to play it. Now that I live in an apartment complex I don't think it is a good idea!
