Where's your anger, where's your fucking rage?

Before I begin this entry properly, I wish to acknowledge the fact that I appear to have grown in popularity without it really entering my stream of consciousness. With that, it gives me great pleasure to wave at and say hello to devereux1880, filthgrinder, knitwearemperor, novan and siyamau. My gratitude to you for adding me to your lists of friends; I have now done the same in return ( Read more... )

Hello again!

It's good that you like whatever you want and don't care what others think.

In fact I agree with everything you just wrote :) Especially about people suddenly 'growing up' I have a friend whos done that! Tis no good

I always describe myself as "an adult, but not a 'grown-up'". That word always gives me mental images of cabbage and grey suits and people who've "grown out of" ordering a dessert when they eat out.

People always piss themselves laughing when they see my DVD collection (which includes several volumes of Henry's Cat, Count Duckula and Sooty & Sweep), but I don't care ;)

Henry's Cat is an underrated hero of televisual history. They don't make 'em like that any more, they really don't.

My DVD collection ranges from the deadly serious ("Scum", "La Haine") to the downright stupid (Monty Python, "This Is Spinal Tap) to the thoroughly idiosyncratic (I own two Judas Priest DVDs and there's still another one I need). And I love and cherish all of them.

Hello!

You managed to narrow down to five, well done! I'd be here all day the bitter twisted old hag I am. But yes I agree also, especially in regards to the shop assistants, whenever they ask me for help I feel the overwhelming urge to leave the shop having purchased nothing.

I really put a checkout woman in her place once. I was with a friend, and the conversation went something like this:

Her: Are you students?
Me: Yeah...
Her: Are you not going home?
Me: Well, I don't actually HAVE a home at the moment (NB: this was technically true at the time)
Her: .....

bless!

I had the wonderful conversation yesterday of
Me: "do you have pipe cleaners?"
Her :"yes"
Me: "are they yellow?" for some reason I found this to be most amusing! But I really did need yellow pipecleaners, but she asked me if they were for art, do I look 5??

I'm dying to know why they had to be yellow. Do you have a miniature cyber-goth as a pet, which needed tiny versions of glow-sticks?

I can believe that, really I can. It seems like most peoples jobs end up getting to them, though. My mum works with special needs kids at the local primary school in my hometown, and while this is a laudable job which she is good at, it does get a bit grating when she comes home still in "job" mode and starts speaking to everyone as though they need everything explained to them several times in the most basic language possible.

I love how you rank Coal Chamber alongside Advent calenders. They're both garish and sweet... But leave you feeling empty and disappointed.

In the case of "Chamber Music", I'm unfortunately inclined to agree.
