I don't think it's possible for me to write at all well if I'm not writing for someone... telling a story to someone, say, or trying to make a point

What are you [meant to be] writing?

I meant writing generally. Not poems or songs, so much, but stories or articles or whatever.

I've been trying to do more of it, lately. I got right out of the habit last year, and I was sort of wondering to myself why it's often such a chore to write anything more than trivial observations or other banal shite.
