The composer in Ireland I've been corresponding with for some time (
read here) has finished his realisation of the Mozart Requiem, and sent me a copy of the full score to read through. It looks good on the page, although not terribly adventurous - I might change my mind once I have time to give it a proper read-through :) In other words, the newly

I'm sorry to report that I don't believe anything was recorded. Rather late in the day I thought of calling John to let him know that you wanted the piece recorded, but it was one of literally dozens of things on my list of things to do if I had time that I didn't get done. The band weren't too bad, but both they and the choir rushed my tempo, and it meant the words in some parts were a scramble. Also as the piece went on the band "warmed up" to the task and got more excited, and would not shut up when I indicated they should "back off". Anyway, that's my analysis as a perfectionist - in terms of accuracy, the performance was more confident than the premiere of "Space Whale" as the singers had no problem locking into their lines being doubled by instruments.
I'll get a score to you when you get back from Edmonton - I ended up taking one or two of my embellishments out because I didn't feel they added anything to the piece. I'm interested in finding an opportunity to do the piece again and get a better performance.

Around when livejournal introduced the ability to list your schools/etc. on your profile, I thought to myself, I wonder if there's anyone from Exeter (high)/Launceston (matric)/Hobart (utas) around... The only person I found in the latter category whom I was likely to have known was bunyip, and when I looked at the goatee userpic I was home and hosed...
I found one fellow student from high school (in my brother's year, or two years younger) who turned out to be an lj-friend of an lj-friend, and living like me in Melbourne. You're the only guys I currently know of from Uni!
You might remember I was doing the usual Physics/Maths BSc, with a dash of Computer Science and Chemistry. I didn't go on to do a further degree (though my brother ended up doing a PhD in radio astronomy) - ended up moving to Melbourne for work, I've been here since `94. Et tu?
Philip :)
