The split HTVs are only in nine seats, and if on the one hand I haven't heard the "across the board" claim, on the other I haven't heard the ALP actually say that Greens are advising voters to distribute preferences either way in just nine of the 88. The former would be outright dishonesty, whereas the latter is dishonesty by omitting a very important qualification. Eh.
Corrections: Apparently it's not 9, but 28 seats out of 88 where Greens have opted for voters to "make their own mind up". Even so, that's still not the same as preferencing Liberals.
This has been described as "The Greens' deal with the Liberals" by none other than Mr Scary Eyes in my icon above. Redneck Wonderland, indeed.
Mr Scary Eyes should perhaps better be known as Mr "Sure, I'll give you environmental cred, if you guys drop your icky, un-Christian support for gay marriage".
Of course, being loose with the truth seems to sit fine with his Christian values.
