Oh, I liked James' songs. He actually gave me a set of some of it for a birthday one year. I've got it packed away. I should bring them out and start playing them.

I think my favourites from Light and Shadow are the meandering narratives of Chocolate Cake and The Dragon... Heartily recommended :-)

I agree - I don't think there's any point in rehearsing if you're not going to improve, and if rehearsals are a week apart, that may mean looking at music in the week inbetween so that you remain familiar with it.

Please don't drop out of the concert - numbers will be thin enough as it is!

As for the "catchiness" of my piece either in part or in whole - it's hard for me to judge what bits of it sound particularly fresh or haunting or whatever, as I'm rather too familiar with it; the audience will not have this disadvantage, as they won't know what's coming next... That's not to say I don't have an opinion on whether a certain effect here succeeds or whether a bar here or there is rather boring!
