About Facebook

I saw this video and thought it was very appropriate in describing Facebook.

Now, I don't go to Facebook any more, and my reasons are simple: it is a waste of time; like Solitaire but on a massive scale.

See, but by not being on Facebook anymore you missed the fact that I finally finished my PhD.

If that isn't interesting, well, then you probably have a better sense of what is interesting than I do.

Yep.
As I'm sure I've told you before numerous times, my policy on facebook has turned basically to never posting updates, photos, never joining groups, liking anything, responding to events - privacy settings are almost universally "only me" or "only friends".

I use it to read and comment on the statuses of people I follow.

Although I do like the CONCEPT, the execution leaves something to be desired. I'm waiting to see if this diaspora thing takes off.
