the election

i'm sure that everyone that reads this knows which side of the fence i lean on. if not, you should be able to tell before the end of this entry.

there was a pretty large problem i had with the election, even more so if hillary had run. this problem is people voting for someone based upon their race, gender, creed, etc and not upon their political ( Read more... )

as some one on the other end of the political spectrum, i agree with much of what you've said here, especially point number two on representation. while cynthia mckinney, chuck baldwin, bob barr and ralph nader also ran (amongst others, WA actually had a socialist party candidate), the dems and repubs wouldn't allow them to participate in the debates and they received very little main stream media attention. not that i think the result would have been different otherwise, but it would be nice to hear alternative views. if not, it seems as though we're a duopoly.

i do, however, disagree with your views about being vocal and speaking out against the president. as others have said, "dissent is the highest form of patriotism." we may actually agree on this as well, as your point on taking action and a government for the people is well taken.
