Some Stuff

- Second blood transfusion this week.   Sadly, it really doesn't make me feel better instantly.  Very gradual.  But today I feel it's finally kicked in.  My nurse was a total sweetie ("Can I get you something?  Please?  I love to fuss.").  Since the move to the new building, all the nurses have been stellar (no cranky ones).  Yay nurses!

Yay for sweet nurses!!

Sorry to heart about Dr C! That sounds ridiculous! Hope he's feeling better.

Wildcat is too funny, I've had the same thought once, but it was about nuclear radiation.

Dr. C is okay in major ways, just banged up.

Actually Wildcat has learned all kinds of amazing science stuff from this book! Stuff I have no clues about.

Hehe, well as far as gamma rays are concern, it would be fast (:

Does she watch Doctor Who? I think she might like it ! :D

I don't know whether to laugh or cry at what Wildcat said. Okay I'm laughing.

Awwww I'm so glad Dr C isn't too hurt and hope he gets better soon!

*hugs* Yay for nice nurses

This conversation followed dinnertime questions about earthquakes and tsunamis, so the worry factor is a concern. But it was pretty funny.

We're all okay pretty much, just a little worse for wear. :)

also re: singing songs based on words people say: I DO THAT ALL THE TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIME.

and yesterday was the last day of our after-school program, and this one smart sassy junior we have was making us all give her THIS IS THE ADVICE I'LL REMEMBER YOU BY advice, and we were kind of joking around but in the end we were serious (me: JOY. If it comes down to choosing money or joy, JOY. [my philosophy on life is slowly turning into "if it's between saving the money or the burger, which are you going to remember: that one time you saved money, or that one time you ate a delicious burger?"]).

And then as we were leaving I said, "Wait! What's your advice for us?"

and so she was being kind of joking and saying, "Well, I'm not as wise as you guys or anything," but then she said, "I guess my advice would be: when life gives you lemons...sing a song about the lemons!"

so I said to her, "I WILL FOLLOW THAT ADVICE EVERY DAY FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!"

:-)

I think I already follow this advice! I'm always getting a song stuck in my head and realizing later it's because I heard someone say "highway" or some other word that brought it to mind. As for Dr. C., if he can't think of a song about lemons, or anything else, he just makes one up. usually just one line, over and over and over until we all yell at him to shut up. :)

Poor Dr C! Holy cats! Not many people get hit by a rowing shell when they're riding a bicycle. Not many at all. I can't imagine how sore he must be. I can just picture that accident, and it ain't pretty, no.

I am glad your transfusion is finally kicking in, somewhat.

Poor Wildcat! I am quite the worry-wart, I must say. (I never actually wrote those words out; is that right? Worry-wart? Worry-wort? What?) I will worry about anything and everything. I hope it's just a phase with her, or a moment, even. With me, it started very very young (like, 4 or 5), so who knows? Maybe it was in my genes. My mother was a worrier too.

I felt bad for him but it was also kind of funny to say he got hit by a boat while bicycling.

Transfusion must be working better than I thought. I did an hour-and-a-half class at Aikido today and never even needed to sit out. But day-to-day I still feel pretty tired.

Wildcat seems to worry about big things like natural disasters. Maybe it's a way of not admitting to worrying about me. My mother is a huge worrier, like her own mother, but I am not. I find worry, like guilt, to be basically un-useful. Can't help a little worry, though. I have to admit cancer makes me more of a worrier than ever before!

Hour-and-a-half! Woo-hoo!

I guess you were not raised Catholic, heh heh! What do you mean, guilt is un-useful??!! How else do you get up off your butt and do stuff?? Silly Philia! *giggles*

Can't blame you or Wildcat for worrying though.

No, see, in my experience guilt makes you wallow and AVOID doing stuff. Like weight loss guilt makes you eat more. Procrastination guilt makes you feel unworthy to do your stuff so you keep procrastinating. It's a cycle I try to avoid.

Nope, my father was raised Catholic but that's where it ended.
