Ha, LJ let me on!

A short post to say I now fully get why it is a good thing to get your book signed by the author.  Sometimes I think, meh, who cares, I want the contents of the book, not an autograph.  This week, I was looking for the next likely read and turned up Forest Born, the the last Bayern book which I haven't read yet.  Flipped it open and there on the ( Read more... )

LJ let me on as well!

And that's really sweet! Lucky you!

You know what is equally surprising? I did this on my phone because I tend to get really morose over things sometimes. I wrote myself a message. Something short and inspirational and signed it off as 'Elle from the past'

I thought it was a funny thing to do at the the time but a year later i found it (it was written on the notes in my cell) and it really surprised me!

Yeah, sometimes I don't get the whole celebrity thing, when applied to authors or anyone else. But the few autographed books I have, I really enjoy.

Why am I anonymous? Philia, I found this link on Cleolinda's twitter. I don't know all the references, but some of the jokes I get, and I think these people all win the internets. I think you would enjoy browsing.

Up at the top, where it says 137 comments? In those comments there are a million little gems. A bunch of re-written poems, pertaining to blogging and the internet and such, and very very very clever. Most of them are way over my head, and I only recognized a few, including If by Rudyard Kipling and The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost but all of them are just very wonderful. One gentleman insisted he was not witty enough for the thread then promptly posted: "For every post there is and equal and opposite riposte." which had me howling. I want it on a tee shirt. I hope you look at it sometime.

P.S. I don't do anything on twitter except read other people. I don't get it. But every once in awhile I can find something interesting...

Thanks, I looked at it a bit. I think I need more time to read all the stuff on there!

That's the reason I get books signed, to remind me of the time I met the author. Though with MWT I would have remembered clearly anyway :)
