How I heart my Thursday group

I've been writing an Evil Coffee Shop story about a blind date and feeling less than thrilled with it.  Afraid it's boring, not funny, etc.  So I show up Thursday at the coffee shop (not evil) and N.  says to me, "I loved that story you started last week.  It gave me the courage to go out on a blind date -- which turned out to be an awkward

Maybe someday it will be finished! Still haven't found a great ending. May have to settle for an okay one.

Oh, well. I have some markers for returning depression and one of them is showing its ugly head: I haven't written anything in my checkbook for the entire month of July! Good luck to me balancing that thing, huh? Usually I'm particular about it. To the penny. Now I just pay the bills and check my balance on-line to see if I have enough money for the next batch. Oy. At least I'm taking care of the animals still. They look great. Heh. Go me.

That's great! Hey, I ate in a place that reminded me of the Evil Coffee Shop, but maybe just because it had really good pastries. It was had this open, welcome, plain feeling, and it was in a tiny town... No punk/puppy waiters, though.
