This year Dr. C and my mother consulted on the Sondheim so I only got one of those (sorry, Jade). However, they neglected to discuss the Tim Wynne-Jones, so I have two spanking-new copies of Blink and Caution. Well, one is more spanking new, since I'm reading the other and dragging it to the hospital. Who wants it???? Let me know.

happily, my parents were thoughtful enough to supply me with my very own copy! AREN'T THEY SO LOVELY, ALL MATCHED?

Blink and Caution--do tell. I have never read Mr. Wynne-Jones.

It's kind of dark, but very interesting, about two kids sort of lost on the streets of ...Toronto, I think? It won lots of awards, and I actually went to the book launch last year but failed to get a copy then because it was crowded. Anyway, T. W-J. is, besides being a lovely person, a very good and interesting writer. He doesn't always write the same kind of book, so hard to classify. If you want it, say the word!

I just--I mean like yesterday--read about Blink and Caution. It was quite a glowing review and so I'd added it to my TBR list.

I'm so jealous. Arabian Nights actually plays a key role in my WIP.

Enjoy your cider. We'll be having ours in the morning with popovers--I think my husband went to sleep at like 8pm :)

He is hard to classify, isn't he? I know I have read more than one of his books and they were very different, very. I never know if they will be for me or not. He is a good writer, though. It's great that you got to meet him!

Happy New Year to everyone up there! (Brian ditched me to go to Washington as it's his birthday and I have to work all weekend. There's always a party somewhere on his birthday, eh?)
