I mentioned earlier that I got a Blu-ray drive. Unfortunately, because of the iron grip of the MPAA, I have two options: pay $70-100 for a supported Windows-based software player and be forced to watch movies only under Windows, or use an unsupported method to obtain the necessary keys to be able to watch the movie under Linux. I watch movies in teeny weeny windows on my computer (Windows or OS X) so I don't even really understand the desire to see every whisker on every actor's face. Maybe it would help if I had a big HD TV, but at that point we'd be talking about spending like two months' rent on equipment.

In conclusion: I'm of no help.

We have a PS3, which is also a Blu-Ray player. If we didn't buy the PS3, we would probably buy a Blu-ray player separately because we have an awesome HD TV

We bought the PS3 because it was cheaper than most Blu-ray players at the time (and even presently, I believe) plus all the other functions.
