I've had low points, a long time ago. And I may have contemplated ending it all then.
I suspect everyone has.
But they were a long time ago, and the memories are hazy and unreliable.
I think that makes this one a pass, in more than one way.

It worries me that a lot of my friends are highly intelligent people, and part of the parcel of being intelligent seems to be being more succeptible to depression.
I'm just very aware now of the cost for those left behind thanks to Donovan - a friend of mine who comitted suicide recently. At the wake a leader of the group of people said that he missed him, was sad that he hadn't confided in him, but most of all was angry with him for doing it and putting us all through the trauma.
It also worried me that someone I am close to when asked what was their biggest regret their answer was that they didn't succeed when they tried to commit suicide.

But yeah, it seems that depression is a problem for those more capable of processing and understanding the world. :-(
