First of all, this fic is fucking adorable. Like, had me giggling ridiculously multiple times adorable. Second, I love that everyone is completely in character, especially Grace. I get really annoyed when she's written as some sort of simpering three-year-old, but you completely nailed her character, which was just awesome. Also, I loved the humor in this fic, especially 'The Rules.' And the banter, and the realism, and the surprising complexity for a short work. Yeah. All awesome. :D (I'm sort of super-caffeinated, so sorry if any of this doesn't make any sense.)
Wow! Thanks! I really struggle writing humor. I get lots of comments about "aw, you made me cry...again" but rarely hear about people giggling so YAY!! I agree about the Grace thing. She's hard to write, but can't stand when people make her out to be a practical toddler. Glad you thought I did her justice. The best part of The Rules was the scene in my head of Danny laying them out for Steve and Grace and all their comments. Thanks so much!! (Loved the super-caffeinated comment, it made perfect sense.)
That's also my complaint about fanfic portrayals of any kid, not just Grace and not just in Hawaii 5-0 fandom, but ALL of them. Grace is 10 in canon now, right? The teens years are just around the corner, heck she could even get her period at that age. It'd be a little early, but not even early enough to be considered abnormal...just the early range of normal.
