The Pegasus Ballot is here.People call the phrase "it's an honor just to be nominated" a clichéd expression of false humility. In this context, for me, it's not. I look at the other names on this year's list for all categories and it's amazing. I click on the link to former writer/composer nominees and it's overwhelming

You know as well as anyone how comparatively recent my first FKO was. I still feel as if I'm trying to catch up. There are people on the list who were winning Pegasus awards 10 or 20 years before I'd heard a filk song.

That's a big part of the surprise. There was a stretch where I did concerts at Duckon, Confluence, Anticipation, Con*Cept, and FKO within a couple of years ... all around the time of creating a CD. Since then, I've written a lot more stuff but not given it much exposure yet.

Thanks. Something I've liked about filk almost from the first is how interchangeable the roles are. One moment you're playing and I'm listening, then we reverse it...and so on with everyone.

To me, that relates to your comment about being in the *company* of great people.
