Two days ago, I held a human brain in my hand. It was awesome! There it was, the prefrontal cortex, Werneke’s area, the cerebellum (which kind of looks like a scrotum with large testicles hanging dorsal to the brain stem). Birthday Pants
I know I'm early on this, but I'd like to mention the birthday pants of the birthday-pantsmeister himself, thedr9wningman. -
R.I.P. to H.M.
For those of you who study psychology and/or neuroscience (or just though the movie "Momento" was cool and wondered if that was possible), H.M. died recently.
H.M. suffered from severe epilepsy from the time he was young. As a treatment, they removed part of his temporal lobe and ended up removing part of his hippocampus. The hippocampus is ( Read more... )
