i'm going to be travelling out to seattle and portland next week, and in portland, i'll be sleeping on couches, so i'd like to provide some gifts to the hosts ( Read more... )

why don't you just cook them a nice dinner? it's hard to think of anything unique that will travel well. i usually bring local booze as a present, but that only works if you are visiting people who do booze, and you are checking bags.

sounds like a fun trip though. let me know if you ever come to sf. i've finally explored all the good vegan spots :)

Ray's seitan for sure. I moved from Philly to the west coast recently and haven't found one that compares.

Also too bad there's no way to transport it because water ice is hard to even explain to west coasters.

There is always La Colombe coffee...easy to transport and makes your luggage smell good :)
