I live in Britain and I was not familiar with Slade (although in hindsight it feels like I might have heard about them) and The Raleigh Chopper. Some things on the list I have only heard about but would not be able to tell what they are precisely. For example I know that Ant and Dec are those two guys who do something on TV and I even know how they look I think but I do not know whether they are singers or dancers or reality TV stars. I know what Coronation Street and Last of the Summer Wine are but I have never watched an episode of either and would not be able to name or recognise a character from either of these.

I agree, I'm British and I think it's a bizarre list. I'd never heard of the Raleigh Chopper either. I only really know Slade from their Christmas song. All I know about Last of the Summer Wine is that it's the title of an old TV programme; I couldn't describe the premise or name any characters or actors, like I could with some TV shows I haven't seen.
I don't know how old philmophlegm is but maybe it's a list of aspects of British culture for an older generation? (I'm 35.)

It's meant to be if not bizarre, then at least quirky. I'm 44.

I'll do a follow up post explaining what each item is later.

I do not think it is bizarre really but I am not British, I just live in Britain. And I do not have a TV at home. After I did the survey I thought that philmophlegm might have wanted to see the results of non-Brits who are not based in Britain only (i.e. how much people abroad know), so I put enough info into my comment for philmophlegm to be able to eliminate me from the results if needed.
I think non-Brits living in Britain are somewhere between Brits and non-Brits, we generally would have no knowledge of the stuff related to previous generations (we did not see our parents or our nan do British things like you guys).

I must add that as a Scot I never encountered a chip butty until I moved to England. We had much healthier food like the macaroni pie supper and the deep-fried pizza... :-)
