1sentence Fandom Hawthorne
Pairing: Nick/Christina
Theme set: Beta
Title: En Sus Brazos (In Your Arms)
Rating: PG
Notes: This has been in the works for a while now. The setting is pretty much ambiguous as is the timeframe in the series. I just kind of like the dynamic of Nick and Christina by the series end (it's cancelled now). This story assumes she didn't marry Tom though.
#01 - Walking
Christina couldn’t resist when she knew she should have walked away.
#02 - Waltz
It made sense that each moment with him felt like a dance, not a waltz-a quick-stepped salsa with dizzying turns.

There was never a cause to worry when Christina was with Nick; she felt protected and carefree.

She enjoyed Nick’s whimsy family because they were full of love despite their fights.

A weakness for whiskey and rum made him tell truths to her and speak loosely.
#09 - War
Her heart didn’t belong at war with her mind-she needed to free it to love.
#10 - Weddings
She gave up on the perfect wedding-the supposed happy ending-for something she knew she wanted and needed more than anything.
#11 - Birthday
A silk robe dropped to the floor: a birthday gift speedily sealed with a kiss.
#12 - Blessing
He touched the rosary hanging on the bedpost and whispered a word of thanks for his blessing, his Christina.
#13 - Bias
“I think I’m partial to chocolate,” he said kissing her cheek and snatching up a donut.
#14 - Burning
One look and he was captured, emblazoned with the need to feel and consume her.
#15 - Breathing
Even the scent, the subtle smell of her perfume brought him to his knees.
#16 - Breaking
It did bother Christina to think of Tom heartbroken.
#17 - Belief
“Querida, do you believe in us?” he asked.
#18 - Balloon
Now whenever she saw him, it was like she was filled up inside and steadily rising every second.
#19 - Balcony
“Let’s go away,” he said, examining the cost for a room with a view in San Juan.
#20 - Bane
The thought of her still loving Tom was a bane to his thoughts.
#21 - Quiet
There was something so peaceful about listening to the quiet in his arms.
#22 - Quirks
She needed someone like Nick; he understood her quirks and her mood swings.
#23 - Question
“How is that even a question,” he whispered, kissing away any doubt in her mind.
#24 - Quarrel
Their heated quarrels always seemed to end in soft words and fluttering kisses.
#25 - Quitting
He told her it was the “Renata way” to never quit on someone they felt strongly for.
#26 - Jump
Ironically, the coward who had jumped her in the parking lot was what had brought her closer to Detective Renata.
#27 - Jester
There was always laughter when she laid in his arms, nothing like it had been with Tom.
#28 - Jousting
“Should I challenge Tom to a joust,” he said, half-jokingly.
#29 - Jewel
She felt the coolness of the jewel in the necklace he slipped around her neck.
#30 - Just
Sometimes he even wondered, was he fair in moving in on Tom’s woman?
#31 - Smirk
A smirk replaced her frown when he pulled her from her chair and up to dance.
#32 - Sorrow
His promise to her was that he would make any sadness go away.
#33 - Stupidity
He was sometimes so dimwitted, inserting his foot in his mouth when all she needed was silence.
#34 - Serenade
“Will you serenade me in Spanish?” she asked with a chuckle.
#35 - Sarcasm
“You don’t know sarcasm,” she said, realizing he sometimes didn’t get her jokes.

#46 - Horizon
She figured if she set her sights on the horizon, she wouldn’t live in the past.

He had always been her hero, a valiant knight salvaging her from the littlest of things - a spider, of course.
#48 - Virtuous
There was so much virtue in Christina, she was so concerned for others.
#49 - Victory
She raised a playful brow, “you win, detective.”
#50 - Defeat
Nick hardly lost, so his persistence to win her was hardly a surprise.
