* Ava's getting something else. Its just a little sniffle, and a cough here and there, but definitely something is brewing again. She was fine for like 4 days and now here we go again. Makes me feel better about her getting this test though. Maybe she really does have PCD? I am in denial I think. Time will tell though. They moved up her appt. with the new ENT (who will do the biopsy) on July 19th, so we should have a date for the procedure soon.
*Separation Anxiety has reared its ugly head again with Ava. I don't get it. She's crying everyday when I drop her off and is incredibly clingy. She's fine after I leave though. She also cried like crazy when I put her down at night to go to sleep. I have had to rock her to sleep the past 5 nights, which is completely NOT like her. Usually when I lie her down she's fine. There are a few things going on though:
1. She's getting transistioned to the toddler room (2 yr olds) at school.
2. Daddy hasn't been spending a lot of time with her the past 2 weeks because he was either putting that swingset together or working in the yard. Now he's sick, so he still doesn't really participate in her evening routine like normal. I am hoping once he's on the mend things will improve.
* AF is due on the 18th (Wednesday), I think I am going to POAS this weekend and see. Probably will wait till Sunday, which, based on the OPK I did this month is 11 DPO. I think that is a reasonable first date. Only symptom so far is not wanting to eat. At all. I have like zero appetite and what I do eat makes me feel ill. Not sure if it’s the heat or something else, but I LOVE to eat, so this has me totally confused. I think that is why I am thinking this could be the month. Again, though, don't want to get myself too excited after what happened last time.
* Onto fun stuff - Ava's Birthday Party!!
Theme: Elmo!
Date: Sunday August 26th
Guest List: 40-50 Adults and 16 kiddos (expecting closer to 30 adults and 14 kiddos)
Where: We are having the party at our house (which will hopefully be ready for the invasion! lol)
Her Invite (created by Tara, because I hate doing my own stuff...its never "perfect" when I do it lol) Isn't it cute?!?!?! (oh, and don't go stalking me now! lol)
I got balloons in green, yellow and red. I also picked up a few Elmo Mylar's. I got these plates and napkins:
And some table covering.
Favors:
I got these boxes in red from Michael's:
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c139/philnikki/Misc/sc0627d1.jpg I am going to make a label the same size as one side of the box in photoshop, and then print it on cardstock and glue it to the box. They will say something like " Thank You for Coming to Ava's Party! Elmo Loves You!!" J
Inside the favor boxes will be:
They will also have a box of crayons and a pack of Ava's favorite "nack", "shish" (goldfish crackers).
As far as Food goes, I will be pretty much making everything. I am thinking I am going to go with:
Hot Dogs and Hamburgers on the grill
Chicken Nuggets (made by me for the kiddies)
Pepperoni Rolls
Fruit Salad
Potato Salad
Taco Dip
Various Chips
Cake and Ice Cream
Juice, Pop and Lemonade to Drink.
I might add more stuff as it inspires me, but for now, I think that will work. All of it is stuff I can make the day before though, and I like that (with the exception of the Hamburgers and Hot Dogs of course.
As far as activities go, I was reassured by the 2nd birthday party of Ava's classmate at "school" that structured activities at this age will fail. So, I am going to have Ava's play tunnel outside, her parachute thing that MIL just bought her, and a few sprinkler toys since its likely to be hot as hades. Indoors, we will have Elmo's World on loop, and of course there is always Ava's play set, and her toys to play with. I think I can entertain those kiddos for a few hours. Hopefully my carpet survives! Its getting cleaned and scotch guarded anyway in the fall in preparation for winter.
As far as a cake goes, I really want to get an ice cream cake for her at Cold Stone, in "birthday cake" flavor with white cake and white icing. The don't make an Elmo Cake in particular, but they will customize them, so I am going to buy the toppers, and have them personalize it.
This is the shape of the cake I am getting (obviously, different theme):
I am getting these decorations:
And I think I will have them make it similar to the one in that picture with the squiggles and all. I think they are cute!
And in my research, I found this very cool, but incredible unpractical cake:
Ok, I think that's enough babbling from me this afternoon. Must get back to work!
