Author's note's: my emotional response to last fic.  (AKA: I can't enjoy my pecan pies if the last thing I wrote is of Eli getting hurt.)

EasterEli stood on top of a table and watched with eagle eyes as his little brother and sister went around Central Park looking for Easter Eggs.  Billy was sitting below him on the bench seat eating a kosher sandwich.  Eli glared down at his fellow big brother who, in his mind, failed to do his big brother duties.  Eli had the deluxe first aid kit, 4 spare changes of clothes, an umbrella, jackets, spf 70 sunscreen, and favorite coloring and puzzle books with crayons in a carry-on bag.  Billy had a huge half empty cloth bag of candy, lunch for 20, binoculars and a walkie-talkie near his mouth.  “Double back to sector Foxtrot, the Bunny has laid new eggs.  Repeat, double back to Foxtrot.  Over.”  Eli looked over to the fountain area to see 6 women hide more plastic eggs, chocolate bunnies and toys.
“Copy that Batman.  Nightwing is going to fly ahead while Robin goes to roost.  Over.”
“There is no visual.  Which way you coming in? Over.”
“From sector Delta.  Over.”
Eli and Billy turned to look at the feeding duck area near the lake, with Billy adjusting the focus of his binoculars.  “I have made visual.  Nightwing you have a go.  Repeat, Nightwing you have a go.  Over.”  A ‘Roger’ is heard and Eli watched as Billy’s younger brothers let go of their joined hands.  The older brother Michael a.k.a. Mike made a steady but meandering path to the fountain area.  Meanwhile the youngest brother Robert a.k.a. Bobbie had a pretty full bag, and slumped down in front of Billy when he got back to bench-base.  Billy handed Bobbie a juice box and some animal crackers before sitting him on the bench seat beside him.  After he dumped out the loot into the now near full bag, Billy picked up his walkie-talkie, "What’s your position Nightwing?  Over.”
“Started at 2 o’clock and going counter clockwise.  Current position at 12 o’clock.  Over.”
Billy checked his phone, “There’s still another hour of retrieval; can you make it? Over.”
“Affirmative Batman.  This bird is flying high. Over.”
“Roger.  I’m sending in back-up with provisions to meet you at your current position. Over.”  Billy handed Bobbie a second juice box for himself, and two juice boxes for his brother with some gold fish.  He turned Bobbie around and pointed him in the correct direction and let him go.  Bobbie gave a yelp, and ran over to Mike.  Eli saw his siblings coming into the area and nudged Billy's shoulder with his knee.  “Nightwing, you have friendlies coming in from the East.  Repeat, friendlies.”
“I have a visual of the friendlies and have made contact with the backup.  Why do I have to eat gold fish?”
“’Cause I don’t want to deal with you on a sugar high.  That’s Dad’s job.  Over.”  Billy looked out across the park through his binoculars while Eli just used his eyes, like a normal person, and spotted a babysitter leading her kids over to the area near the entry gate.  “Sector Epsilon has 6 combatants.  Radio silence.  Over.”
Eli punched Billy in the arm and glared down at him, “How can you not take their safety seriously?”
“Candy is serious business.  My mom doesn’t buy candy, so the only way any of us ever get some are by taking complete and total advantage of events like these.  Besides, do you see how many high-strung mothers there are?  They all look like you, if you can’t tell.”  Billy said with his binoculars focused on their siblings collecting candy.
“We have every right to be.  Do you know how many sexual offenders there are in New York City?  2059!”
Billy took a sip from his soda, “And how many of them do you think can survive the wrath of Patriot and Asgardian?”
Eli looked over at their younger siblings and watched how they hunted for candy as if looking for lost treasure, totally uncaring about any dangers that could be in their surroundings.  He then plopped down beside Billy on the bench.  “Hand me a chicken club sandwich.  Let me know when your eyes get tired and I’ll take over the watch.”
