Brotherly Bonding
Tommy is leaning against the warehouse watching as Jonas straps a roller-skate-wearing-Billy into protection pads and armor.
“Where did you guys get S.W.A.T. gear, and why do I need to wear it?” Billy asks trying to twist his head to see what Jonas is doing.
[At the speeds your brother travels everything becomes a bullet.] Jonas says as he finishes the last of the buckles. He claps Billy on the shoulders and calls over his head to Tommy, [I’m done.]
Tommy smirks as he zips over to them and in a blur has Billy tethered to himself, “I think it’s time for you see the world as I do baby brother.” Billy has enough time to make a confused expression before Tommy speeds through all of New York dragging his brother behind him.

The camera is showing an ice landscape near the ocean before Speed in a green and white snow coat appears on the screen. “Hey all you Young Avengers fans. I’ve realized that the website Vision created to get us more in touch with our adoring public is not enough. So I’ve decided to do v-blogs so you can get to know the real us instead of how the media portrays us. Really, what can you know about us as people if all you get are gamer player stats? Here we will answer all those burning questions that keep you up at night. For instance, I’m sure all my fangirls worry about where Wiccan zaps me after he over reacts to a little joke. The answer…” Speed zips out of frame and the camera pans to follow. It shows Speed in front of a research camp. “Antarctica!” The camera tips up and zooms in on the symbol above the door with a picture of the bottom of the world on it.
The camera zooms back out to show Speed gone and a person in a heavy coat walking towards the camera. [That is Dr. Lowyer.] Vision says off-screen, [He is in charge of the American research here at Palmer Station on AnversIsland. The research centers mostly around marine biology, houses year-round monitoring equipment for global seismic, atmospheric and UV monitoring networks; and hosts a radio receiver that studies lightning over the Western Hemisphere.]
Speed zooms back into the frame, “I have a penguin!” and holds it over his head.
“Speed, put it back.” Dr. Lowyer says as he comes up to the camera. Speed disappears and reappears minus the penguin. Dr. Lowyer talks to the camera, “These two boys show up like imps, running and flying about every-which-way. Sometimes they bring hot food from South America and the researchers rejoice. But most of the time, Speed is zapped here alone by blue lightening and is kind enough to run some things to family, friends, and fellow researchers back home. Sometimes Vision appears to check on Speed to make sure he’s alive and not bothering us and we can get him to do some repairs of equipment. They’re good boys but they should be in school and not fighting super villains.”
[I have no need for school; I have a G.E.D.] Vision says off-screen.
Speed runs around Dr. Lowyer, “I blow things up. They can be good or bad things; but something/one is going to go boom.”
Dr. Lowyer rolls his eyes, “Well if you must. Turn that camera off and I’ll find you guys something to do and something to eat.” The camera and Dr. Lowyer head towards the doors while Speed zips though the doors with a penguin in his arms before the video feed is cut off.

The camera turns on to show Speed sitting in a bedroom at a desk looking into the camera. His hand goes up to adjust the lens, “Hello world and welcome to the Young Avengers second v-blog. I’m Speed and Vision is in the building somewhere doing something worthy of a robot. But that’s not important right now. What’s important is this!” Speed holds up the headlines of a newspaper from the ‘The Pulse’. It reads ‘Young Avengers: The Heroes of Tomorrow, Destructive Forces of Today’ with pictures below of Speed blowing up a wall with it falling over Manslaughter Marsdale dressed as the Clown along with bystanders and in the background Patriot is attempting to punch Zodiac, in another picture shows Wiccan and Vision flying over a burning building shooting lightening and eye-beams at the Trapster from a distance with Statue in the background, Hulkling in the foreground protecting a family while Hawkeye and Vision try to takeout Death Reaper behind him, a composite of Speed hitting Zodiac as he keeps transporting until Patriot knocks him unconscious and the last picture is of the destruction of the city block after the fight is over. “To sum up, it says we create unnecessary destruction due to lack of experience and training. What it doesn’t tell you is that the YA formed because there were no more heroes and that when the heroes came back they wanted nothing to with us. So yeah we’re self taught but we’re needed. What were the police supposed to do against these guys anyway? Also, Wiccan spelled everything back in place before we left. Visit the Bronx and you won’t be able to tell we ever wrecked the place. Do any of the other heroes do that? Can the police? No? That’s something only we do; we clean up the messes we make because we’re there to help people, to fix your problems so you can live your lives as best you can. We’re heroes now, and more responsible than most. Think about that when you talk about what makes a good hero.”
There’s a knock at the door. “Speed? You in there? We have a meeting right now and Patriot is in a ‘Grrr’ mood, so can you just show up so he doesn’t reach ‘Angry’.” Wiccan pops his head through the door, “Hey, have you seen Vision? …. What are you doing?”
“Me?Nothingnothing!AndVision’sprobablytherejustinvisible.Let’sgodown-” and the camera turns off.

The camera turns on showing Wiccan sitting in a chair with Vision sitting on the bed behind him. “Hello world. This is Wiccan on the Young Avengers’ twenty third v-blog.” Wiccan turns to look at Vision, “How is it that this has been going on for seven months and I’ve only found out about it now?”
Vision shrugs, [We didn’t keep it from you. You may tell Patriot if you wish.] Billy makes a frowny face at Vision. [You have you’re answer.]
“So what do you guys normally do on this thing?” Wiccan twirls his hand in the air.
Vision twirls his hand in the air, [Whatever comes to mind. This is to let the public get to know us. Last v-blog I spoke of my growing interest in people watching.]
Wiccan frowns as he taps his finger on the desk, “Anything we want?” Vision nods his head. “Your room is soundproof?” Vision nods his head. Wiccan turns back to the camera, takes a deep breath and then, “MOVE OUT OF THE WAY!” Vision starts behind him on the bed. “When we are fighting bad guys, super-powered or not, we can barely keep tract of where our own teammates are, let alone the rest of you. I can rebuild buildings and put back street lights; people, not so much. So when a fight breaks out, please do the sensible thing and RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!” Wiccan glares at the camera and then smiles. “For the people who wave thank you signs, we appreciate the sediment but we would prefer you to send your thanks to the website. Please don’t stay in the danger-zone.” He then twists back to Vision, “I’m done, now what?”
Vision gives Wiccan a look before he gets up and turns the camera off.
