2010 Books Read Poll

It's that time of the year: the book poll. I've gotten in 41 for the year. I couldn't quite reach my goal of 50, but with a new baby, reaching any goal is a challenge. In all fairness, I get a lot of free books from the Amazon Vine early reviewer program, so lots of my regular fiction isn't necessarily common reading.

Criminy! I didn't think people still read Alas, Babylon! Talk about a blast from the past (oops, bad pun, sorry!). That was the same era as On the Beach and all those other scary nuclear war books that we read eons ago when we were sure it was going to happen any day.

I'm just quite addicted to post-apocalyptic stories. It's interesting reading the ones from that time period because it's all related to the Red Scare in some way. I wasn't nearly as impressed with that book as I thought I would be since it's a classic of sorts. Oh well.
