What Chinese New Year's is good for when you're little:

- Red money pockets (read: $_$), mountains of gifts, swarms of cousins, piles of candy, flammables (fireworks~!), odd flying dreams, lots and lots of RED and LIGHTS and RED LIGHTS, lanterns!, mock chicken ( Read more... )

gung hay fat choy! (Cantonese with crappy spelling)

thank you Lilly, I almost forgot my lucky money in my coat pocket. And that would have been bad. It's a lot of money :O

*Has no idea what that meant*
(Is it the 'Bring joy and money' one?) Gong xi fa chai! (mandarin with crappy spelling- aint it cool that we can misspell in TWO variations of TWO languages??) :D

Well, if there was a penny in it, maybe one day you would've found it after forgetting it, and then- behold, a penny! It would be double the luck of goodness ^_^ But since you already found it before you can lose it, I guess that's okay too :)

Money packets. ^_^
More tennis rackets.
More tennis playing.
Tennis skill increase... maybe... -_-

So the blue turnip is calm and feeling secure is it?

Hunt down and kill that blue turnip. O_O

I miss snow and falling leaves. :(
And I miss the spring rains. I don't miss the summer heat though because I never liked it. ;p

You can barely tell the difference. ^_^

Tennis ball != Blue turnip.

That is the difference. >:[

I miss not missing summer.

Hi :) My name is Yve and I added you a while back. I got here from the IBScrewed eljay comm and read a bit of your journal, found out that we have quite a number of things in common, and thus added you. Oh and you write well too :D

CNY for me is more about family, since I go to Malaysia almost every CNY (and the money is in Ringgit so I don't really get much anw).

Awww, that's pretty cool :) I haven't seen my family for about four years, and haven't celebrated a CNY with them since I was 5. It's awesome that you're still able to go back and visit yours at least once a year :D

Oh yeah, I remember an '_irretrievable' on the list for a while, but wasn't sure who you were. It's nice to meet you :)

Oh well, it makes those reunions and gatherings all the more precious, no? I hadn't seen my paternal extended family in 3 years so when it felt really, really good catching up with all the news this CNY.

Thanks for adding me back :D Can I ask which subjects do you take?

I take a little of everything (if you mean classes)-- English, Orchestra (violin), History, Biology, Math, Art. I've never really been able to settle with a concentration, I guess.

And definitely-- I really really enjoyed the visit back before. Nothing changed, yet everything was different. I'd nearly forgotten how much I loved my family in China... We're actually going to go back for another visit in a few months. I'm excited!
