dark knight rises (more than 18 times! if you count each pushup)
I can't say I enjoyed that movie. There were bits I totally loved, ie basically everything with Alfred and Selina Kyle and the fun things they did with DC canon. but honestly?
I found the film hateful.
ok so bruce wayne is all grr i never leave the mansion my leg hurts i don't go to my own parties i haven't even noticed WE (wayne enterprises) makes no money and can no longer fund charitable homes for orphans
and Alfred is like Gotham needs Bruce Wayne! with your presence and your moneys and your social work

which is totally correct
anyway but he's all whatevs imma be batman again
and there's this bit where gary oldman (commissioner gordon)
is like well son (to joseph gordon levitt)
sometimes the rules ar elike shackles
and what we really need to do is suspend constitutional lberties and also lie to people
a lot
and then fucking Bane takes over Gotham and is like i am giving it to the ppl
let's have tribunals and force rich people to walk out onto the ice where they all die
champagne for everyone
and i am like what the fuck
in an era where people are fighting just to get some basic tax reform so that people who make billions of dollars don't get to steal it and then pay literally nothing
and people are getting foreclosed on
we are portraying the terror of mob rule
which isn't even mob rule
because it is under Bane
and there's this ridiculous comic book section in the middle
i say comic book section, because it is so fucking ludicrous i can't deal
where bruce is in this prison in 'a less advanced part of the world'
and everyone is generically ethnic
and these people ahve nothing
and the people of gotham have nothing
and i am cheering for this selfish rich dude to rock climb so he can get the credit for saving a city?
anyway he shows up and stops shit from getting exploded
and they PUT A FUCKING STATUE OF BATMAN IN THE HALLS OF JUSTICE
and our everyman standin (JGL) who i actually loved
throws his police badge in the river
and is like you know what i learned from all of this?
it is the rules that are the problem
imma be batman (and/or robin)
