I like this one better than the Death Note one, to be honest. Only makes sense if you know how the last series of Doctor Who ended. It's to the tune of
No Such Thing.
Wilfred's Lament
On a cloudless autumn night
I held my telescope
And gazed into the starry sky,
Full of dread and full of hope.
My granddaughter came to me
And she looked up at the stars,
And jokingly she asked me
Was I hunting men from Mars?
I was looking for a blue box
And a man who strode the sky,
But I laughed, and I said nothing,
And my silence told the lie...
There's no such thing as Time Lords
And no aliens in Wales,
They're only films and TV shows
And simple children's tales.
She's loud and bold as ever
But her eyes are not so bright,
And she'd say it barely mattered
If she turned to left or right.
And I've often longed to tell her
Just how much she's truly worth,
Of the circle that was broken and
How she saved the stolen earth.
Though I'll do my best to shield her,
Here beneath one yellow sun,
How I wish, my noble Donna,
You could know what you have done,
But there's no such thing as Time Lords
And no aliens in Wales,
They're only films and TV shows
And simple children's tales.
