I have work for half of this week and all of next week! :D Room surveying at Leeds Met, ie. walking round campus with a PDA checking which rooms are occupied. Should be fun-ish.

Ugh. Just finished dealing with that malware I picked up at deviantart. I thought virus scan had got it all until I checked the logs for the 28th and realised something had changed the registry. :( Things seem to be back to normal after much scanning and system restoring, though. Some of you have seen pictures of the stripy garter stitch scarf I made as my first thing. This is what I'm working on now. It's an illusion scarf. You make the design with stripes of two different colours, one for the background and one for the image, and the bits you want to be able to see are made with purl stitches, so they're raised. I'm now 24. It seems distressingly like I should be an actual adult by now. Of course, I've felt this every year since turning 20.

The prompt was 'post-series Mikami, author's choice' on a general theme of 'aliens made me do it'. There are no actual aliens in this fic, though. Also, it's horribly depressing.

I am feeling much less stressy now. And the main computer is back and working much better since it's basically all been rebuilt now. Or so I hear. :)

My laptop has a virus that, in addition to putting popups that won't go away all over my screen, apparently turns off System Restore. I am not familiar enough with how you turn it back on to want to risk using the thing again, so I'm waiting till Dad gets home.
