How long have you been in Munich? Making new friends is rough, and you're right, it's usually easiest to do so through an activity. I didn't really have much of a social life here till I joined a community chorus, and then randomly ran into a friend from back home who lived here.
Fingers crossed for the boyfriend's job! It's sounding more and more promising!
Hope you get to do some snowy activities soon! We've got flurries in the forecast today, but not enough for skiing. Even if the ground weren't flat. ;)
I've been here in Munich since August. So really not a long time, especially given that I pretty much work all the time. One of the first things I did after getting settled was looking at the alpine club adds for people in search of climbing partners. You wouldn't believe that place. It looks more like a dating site than anything else. "Looking for a female climbing partner. Should be fit, good looking and well spoken. Please respond with a photo". I'm not kidding! That's why I was so glad to find this normal add by a girl looking for other girls to climb with.
A colleague and I are both desperate for snow. Earlier it was raining and hailing with a few small snowflakes mixed in. You should have seen the happy dance we did :D
Yup, at least one of those weirdos will actually answer by sending you a pic of himself. In full cool-kid climbing get up, naked from the waist up. The funny thing is, apparently every climber in Munich knows these adds. Makes for fun conversations in the women's locker room ;D
Hmph, no not really :/ You know what really kills me? The low mountain ranges in the north have already seen snow! It's just the Alps that have been left out. But it's supposed to be a lot colder this week and there have been forecasts predicting snow. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
