Okay. Okay. I'm making this really, REALLY quick because I have a plot-HORNET and it will not leave me the hell alone so... Let's make this quick.
I just came back from seeing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: pt 2
Overall thoughts: I'm fairly happy with it, in the end. Totally going to be seeing this one again.
Best moment? The fucking Malfoy's turning their back on Voldemort and walking the hell away from the fight. Complete with Narcissa's "Lol. I don't care. I have my family. Dienowplzkthnx" face. And Draco. God's Draco ;A; ... OH, and the Room of Requirement scene. My heart was in my fucking throat the entire way through. Yes, I made impassioned gestures at the screen and whispered an agonised "Draco!" everytime he came within my sight.
Biggest disappointment? Wait ... .... .. ... Waiiiiiiit.... OH! That they changed the beginning of the battle of Hogwarts SLIGHTLY. I really liked Harry coming to McGonnagal's defence in the Ravenclaw common room because the male-Carrow spat on her ... Completely erased. But, you've gotta understand they're working with time restraints here...
Random things: - Neville, when the HELL did you become such a BAMF? Seriously - Timid little Neville yelling at a HORDE of snatchers "Yeah. Yeah! That's what I thought! You and what army?" when they can't cross the Hogwarts barriers? DAMN boy! Bamf alert! Also -- The movie made NevilleLuna canon more or less - Or, at least have Neville saying he'd had the hots for her and there was no better time to confess than when you're being chased down by Death Eaters in a battle for your lives.
- THANKFULLY, the director seemed to decide it was best to keep things neutral with shipping wars - By which I mean, the only Harry-Ginny scenes were shortlived and something I could just shrug off to "Well, I suppose he at least likes her right now...", so that fuck for that.
- The HermioneRon kiss did not disappoint - It was one of my "Fuck yes!" moments.
- There were alot of one-liners that made me laugh. For instance, McGonnagal saying to Molly "I've always wanted to use that spell" <-- about the one that brings all the statues to life in Hogwarts.
- Speaking of Minerva. Holy Fucking Shit! McGonnagal is Bad ASS. I can't even remember if she and Snape faced off in the book but holy hell that was an epic fight.
- And Snape! All my fucking creys!
I, surprisingly, did not cry, but I did get really choked up at times. And ... It never really occured to me exactly how ambiguous the Epilogue is until I actually thought about it. Oh sure, they have kids ... But there's nothing to say they're still TOGETHER ... It was just strange seeing the characters 'aged up' versions though. I mean ... Who in their right mind decided that Draco Malfoy would ever condescend to grow a beard? Srsly guys. No.
All in all, I really enjoyed it. My heart was actually racing at times *Cough Room of Requirement Cough*, I was constantly making "Fuck yeah" gestures ... ... And it made me realise, even if Harry Potter HAS come to a franchise end .... It will never really BE the end, because I'll always be a fan of it. I can't see myself getting over the series, and I know that ... When I start to miss them, I can easily pick the books up again and re-live my adventures.
