It was really hard, but I finally canceled my content ID for Final Fantasy XI a few days ago. I have 5 years of work put into it but I just don't enjoy it that much anymore. Many of my friends left. Many remain, but I can still talk to them on AIM/phone/skype etc. But the game itself with the inability to solo, SE being asinine about many things,

Have fun with that for a while, but I do believe this is the game I'm going to be quitting FFXI for:

Following that, and the fansite aionsource.com, I've been growing rapidly hyped up about it, and from all the videos I've seen of it being played overseas, to me it looks amazing.

P.S. - another MMORPG that Jere doesn't like?

It's not that Jere doesn't like it. He has an archer and a blademaster in Perfect World. It's really that Jere's a gaming butterfly (much like how folks can be social butterflies). He plays a game for a little while, puts it down, tries another. Gets sick of that, tries another. He never stays with any game for long. In fact the longest I think he's ever done was FFXI, and that was before he was living with me. I dare say he played that much merely to spend time.

I'll have to give Aion a look. But seeing how the social scene in PW is going for me... I may be there a while. Details will follow.
