Phoenix deleting itself

I'm running Phoenix 1.9.5 on Mac OS 10.3.5. When I install the program, it appears on the desktop with an icon that looks similar to my hard drive. After I use it to post to LJ, it moves itself to the Trash, and gets deleted when I empty it. This has happened repeatedly, and I have to keep going back and downloading it again every time it gets ( Read more... )

Is the icon a white, plainer version of the hard-drive icon? Those are temporary sort of drives, they're supposed to be "ejected" after using. I'm guessing if you open the white-drive thing, you see a window with just the phoenix application icon? Try dragging that onto your desktop or into an application folder, that usually works for me with stuff like Acquisition or firefox to keep the app. always accesable. Also if you save the downloaded installer file on your desktop (or in the "junk drawer" equivalent of a desktop folder) you can just re-run the installer and get that white icon back.
I don't think our versions of the OS are so different that my advice would be completely useless, I hope this helps!

That's exactly what's going on. Thanks for the help! For some reason, it didn't occur to me to keep the installer around.
