Error

I booted up my computer this morning and tried to open Phoenix and got...

"An exception of class NilObjectException was not handled.
The application must shut down."

Tried opening it again after it shut down and got the same thing. Any thoughts?

nilobjectexception, shut down

Lord knows. I and others have been asking the same question for ages.

If you go into the following folder with Phoenix quit: Home/Library/Preferences, you should see a file and a folder (you can use View:Arrange->By Name to make this easier) called LJ Logs and LJ Preferences. Try removing those two items from the folder and see if Phoenix will let you start up and put in your username.

Let me know if this works, as I need to figure out what's causing this bug:/ Because as daddicade can obviously attest to, this bug has been intermittently around for too long.

I just tried it and I got the same notice. The only difference was that now I actually got the log in screen before the notice popped up.

I tried this and it did work. THANKS! I got a new machine at work and tried to load Phoenix a couple of times over the past few weeks and always got that message so I switched to XJournal which wasn't nearly as good. Finally had time to look up what was happening. So, again, thanks. I only hope it keeps working.
