Okay, linking to uno_marsch and 0dead0journal0's previous journal entry's, is it just me, or do the teen's (or anyone for that fact) that support gay pride, are homosexual or bisexual, or have no problem with it HAVE homophobic parents? Most peoples parents i know are homophobic but the kids are not! My parents rant all the time about 'poofs' and ' ( Read more... )

Precisely! Thankyou!
The alientation is incredible, having parents go on about the 'pooftas' and then you sinking back because you know you're one of them...it's terrible. It makes it so hard to even consider coming out because you're never sure how they're gunna take it...are they gunna exile you from the family? Are they going to try and snap you out of it? Are they going to accept it but never look at you the same way again, or are they going to stop, accept it, and love you just the same?
I hate how we're still in the dark ages about this, times are changing, you can't choose sexuality anymore than you can choose what your sex is gunna be. People need to learn to get over it, stop being afraid of what's different and even though they may fancy the same sex, they're still a person, and they're more sane than probably the majority of the heterosexual community.

...whoa, I think my comment was just longer than your actual entry.

It's not half obvious that I've dived right into the pool of fruityness, and as comfortable as it feels at the time, you just stop sometimes and realise how weird it is because you're an outcast, you're a freak, you're not normal and people think that if they try and push you into a mould then you'll just 'go straight'. I tried to kid myself for a long time that I was straight, and I failed because it's a part of you. You can pretend but at the end of the day you have to be who you are...and people are either gunna like it or lump it.

The reaction from parents is more scary than a reaction from someone that you're not blood related, as terrible as it sounds, you can always get new friends thtat understand and accept you for who you are, you only have one set of parents and it's really hard to even consider risking their respect for you just because you have a strange set of preferences ( ... )

Absolutely right once again!

I dont mean to offend anyone else who reads this but i personally believe the depths of religion is a waste of time and a load of bullshit! I think the Catholic religion is the most corrupt religion on earth, i truely think that they brainwash everyone into everything! If you have read the Da Vinci Code, then you'd understand. I think the world was created by evolution and not dirt n god a stuff...and i personally believe that the bible was rewritten into making homosexualtiy and everything else the bible teaches as bad, to be bad! (if u follow me...)

I SUPPORT GAY PRIDE TOO!! IF anyone had a problem with that too bad! People do need to accept this and move on, its not a bad think!!!

You're generalising far too much my parents arent homophobic at all. The only reaso i chose to not tell my entire family about my preferences is one; i am still young and if i was to bring a boy home they could get confused and two; id rather not burden them with thinking they have to act differently around me. One day i'll tell them but right now i think its not so important.

My mum knows though, she now stresses when i say im going out with my friends you see she doesnt quite understand, although in some respects some of my friends i am a little more involved with but its still nothing for her to worry about, my brother not having a girlfriend shouldnt concern her, hes getting to be a sad case!
