Question Pertaining to American Films About Foreign Cultures...

*sigh* I SHOULD be posting a critique of the latest Bleach episodes and fangirling over the latest manga chapter, but... I'm posting a question instead:

Do producers believe the movie audience is so removed from understanding other cultures and other cinemas that we have to be spoon fed formulas and cliff notes?This really should go in an entry on

It does seem that way and sadly there are some Americans that are removed from understanding of other cultures. I think it is good to understand other cultures for to understand other cultures helps us to better understand where we stand in the world as well as help us reach out to others that have beliefs, ways of living and so on that are different from our own.

I agree. Unfortunately, the desire to understand isn't the same thing as actively understanding. It seems there are many people who are more willing to understand and want to, like yourself, but very few people who go out of their ways to learn. I can understand this, at least, because we all have lives of our own that take priority.

It's those who have no desire, closed minds, and live in their own little mental bubbles that really besets the masses.

I feel that it is good to understand the world around us because what happens in other countries DOES affect us in one way or the other. With the internet, flying, and such we can get to other countries better then we were able to centuries ago. We deal with other countries in business and other ways as well. It is important to understand other cultures so that we can do better business and have better relations with them.

Look, Phoenix... I know we've had our disagreements in the past, but I really need your help right now.
