Remembering a selfless man...

As I look through my friends posts of the previous 24 hours I see that many of you have commented in the tragic loss of Steve Irwin. I realize that he was looked on as a bit of an embarrassment in his own country, but here is the US he was larger than life and a right blast to watch as he preformed one crazy act after another. It is a sad day indeed. I think the US took so well to Steve because he was the embodiment of the freedom of expression that we hold so dear here in the States and share with our Australian friends.

His enthusiasm for his work was contagious. Like him or not, you have to respect someone who chased and got their dream and was not afraid to share it.

He will be missed.

Yep, he will be sorely missed in Australia.....while a lot of people bagged him for being too much of an "ocker", he worked tirelessly trying to bring wildlife to the notice of all. It was a terrible terrible tragedy that he died so young, leaving behind two small children.
