Okay, so I'm thinking I definitely need to read these. Because the teenage werewolf sidekick just sounds awesome. Also, I actually snickered at the line where Kate says that Raphael will help because he wants into her best friend's pants, which is both true and shows a lot of common sense that is missing from urban fantasy these days. (I love that she doesn't take the love interest as back-up.)
And I kind of like the concept of a female protagonist who is Crazy Aunt material and okay with it. Not, oh, someday I want kids. Or oh, no way kids totally traumatize me, but you know, kids are alright, I don't know if I want one, but this one is sort of mine and it will be awesome. Because we don't see enough of that either.
So, yay, random squeeage. You have convinced me to pick up these books. =)
Haha, no, that was the best part. She had to get outside back up because they were all in conspiracy against the love interest. Wee, fun times.
Huh, you're right. I hadn't even thought about the whole being Ok with kids thing. But yeah, usually these UF tough-as-nails chicks are all, "Oh no, I can't have kids, it would be terrible, keep them away." Kate's really upfront with "my life style is not conducive for raising children but I can be a Crazy Aunt." And Julie is totally hers, she's always referring to Julie as "my kid."
Yay! Yay you want to read them! Random squeeage accomplished! I shall send you the first one when I can.
Fantasy totally needs more women who want kids. So this kinda makes the series more attractive to me. Especially since she refers to Julie as her kid, because I am all about the family that you make in addition to the family that you have.
Also, conspiracy against the love interest? This sounds hilarious. I can't wait to read.
