I need a dollar.

It’s just before bedtime on a school night, and I suddenly, desperately, need a dollar.

My son stands before me in the tiny kitchen of our apartment, grinning his newly gapped toothed grin.  His seven year old face is aglow with pride at having pulled his loose tooth all by himself.  I beam back at him, but all I can think is how ( Read more... )

Ohhh ahhahahaha poor you, that is hilarious though.

I just went through the omg need tooth money dance myself last week. I managed to find and old 2 dollar bill we had stashed in a drawer so the boy got that, but it was a frantic half hour search for something/anything we could use lol.

I LOVE $2 bills! My college football team of choice (Clemson) has a tradition that fans use $2 bills to pay for any and everything when we travel for a game. Sometimes we even stamp them with orange tiger paws. It helps merchants in the area realize how much money we bring in. And it rubs our presence in their faces a little bit. :)

I do too haha. I used to have a bunch along with some special edition Santa $1 bills. I am not sure what happened to them though, they disappeared during a move I think. Kind of upsetting since I don't think you can get the Santa bills anymore :(
That is so cool that people do that for the team :D what a great show of support!!

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Yeah this was when I was newly single, so I REALLY had no clue what to do without anyone else to turn it. Luckily it out turned out okay.

I love this story. It captures what it means to be a mother so beautifully. I have written down lots of little stories of my son in a journal, on paper, and plan to give them to him some day. Maybe when he has kids.

That's a wonderful idea. Luckily my son loves to hear stories of when he was little, so I tell him all the kooky stuff we used to do. He's 20 now, and I think next time he comes home for a visit, I'll tell him the whole truth about the Tooth Fairy.
