South Dakota's governor has signed into law a bill that prohibits abortion except to save the life of the mother. According to him, a"simple rape" isn't grounds for abortion.

Because, of course, a woman's life only has value when she's bringing another life into this world, right? Let's not ever consider the quality of life that these women will be subjected to when they're forced to carry their rapists' children.

And you know, some women might actually want to do that. But, the point is that they're taking the choice away.

Another point that I've only ever heard a few people mention is that women who have money available to them will always be able to cross the state line and have an abortion if they choose to do that. Women who are below the poverty line though? Who really cares about them? Or what they have to suffer?
