Case 3: Saving Private Cas

Aug 15, 2009 20:26

Dean, Sam, and Xander had run out of Los Angeles like a bat of out of hell. No time to say goodbye to friends and no time to really get their shit together. They simply leapt into the Impala, put the pedal to the floor, and were gone.

Dean didn’t want to leave, but knew it was wiser to run than fight an angel of the Lord right now.

Xander grinned in return and stood to accept her hand. "Yeah, they told me you're a seer and that you maybe able to find our missing er..." He glanced back to the Winchesters for a go ahead to tell her and figured she'd need to be told at some point...that is if she didn't already know.

"Angel."

Missouri gripped his hand. "I know, boy." She then laid her free hand over his and her smile softened.

After a moment she said, "Don't worry Xander. You should have as much faith in yourself as you do in your friend." She cast a chilly gaze to Dean and Sam. "Besides, this Apocalypse is not for Buffy to fight. The one who is going to finish it is standing right behind you."

Xander's eye widened and he gaped like a fish before remembering something important. Oh duh, she's psychic. He nodded towards her and smiled. "Yeah thanks, but angels are a new territory for me. Kinda nervous."

He looked over his shoulder at the brother. "You mean one of them?"

"Besides, this Apocalypse is not for Buffy to fight. The one who is going to finish it is standing right behind you."

Dean resisted all reaction to Missouri's statement, but she had pinned her gaze on him before casting it to his brother. If she could read minds, he was all but screaming Don't tell Sam yet why it's me! Don't tell Sam yet why it's me! like a chant.

He shot Xander a look. "I didn't get pulled out of Hell for my good looks." He offered, shrugging off the tension as best he could.

Xander snickered at Dean's reaction and shook his head. "Does it make you nervous man? Seriously, though, I'm just kidding." His snickers died off as he watched Mosley tear into the Winchesters. He winced slightly, glad he wasn't on the receiving end of that.

When Mosley turned back to him he nodded in response and let her guide him in, taking a seat in one of the chairs. "So, let the angel tracking begin!"

Missouri nodded and opened the package. "I see some clothes...a picture...my what a cute little girl. Looks like her mother but has her father's gift." She placed the items on the coffee table as she sorted through the container.

She pulled out the rosary. "James Novak is a man of faith." She praised. Missouri studied the items. "I will tell you boys...I am not a search and rescue. I couldn't tell you where your father was when you where last here...but I think with these...and..." The woman rose from her seat and walked over to Dean, placing a hand over his left shoulder. "This. We might be able to use the bond between Dean and Castiel to reach out to either of them."

Dean resisted the urge to flinch as Mosely put her hand to his shoulder. Damn. At least Pamela asked when she did it.

"Missouri," Dean pulled out of her touch. "Before we do this...we wanted to go over the danger--"

"You don't need to remind me. I can feel it just by touching you what could happen." Missouri lowered her hand. "And what did." She said somberly. "Pamela was a good psychic. It's a shame what happened but that is the risk we take when we peer into the unknown ( ... )

Missouri sighed gently, relaxing her empty hand as if to let go of the invisible presence beside her. She continued to breath as she pulled away from the astral plain...careful to avoid looking at Anna on her way back into her own body.

"Hello Anna." She said, pulling her hand away from Dean's shoulder. Missouri unrolled his sleeve back into place and then removed Jimmy's rosary from her hand.

"Here." She said, taking Dean by the wrist and placing into his palm. "You take care of that now boy."

Missouri turned to her new company. "Come in dear, take a seat. I'll go and get some tea." She motioned the red-headed woman in. "And Dean, don't you dare start thinking like that!" She scolded on her way out into the kitchen.

Dean held still as Mosely broke the connection. At once his arm stopped itching, but the skin that had been touched by the beads of the rosary felt numb. He almost didn't want to hold them when she settled the strand into his hand and let go ( ... )

Sam dropped the exasperated look he was giving Dean, and shrugged. "Not on me, but I can find them. Is he still in the States? Ley Lines cross the whole globe, but if we can narrow it down, we can probably find him sooner or later."

Dean frowned. "Cas wouldn't go anywhere were we can't find him. If anything, he's here in North America." He rubbed at his jaw. "And near a large body of water. So...there is either ocean...Lake Champlain, Any or all of the Great Lakes...maybe if we get our hands on some ley line maps, we could focus on any of the closest bodies of water near Ohio."
