You'll have to pardon my language.

I was livid, initially. Then I decided life was far too short to be bitter. I get my workload cut back to only one and a half (or maybe two) full time jobs now. This frees up a lot of my time, and I can spend more of myself on things that matter to me personally, rather than professionally.

It's now filed under "worse thing have happened to better people." I'm wiser and stronger, and I can still look at myself in the mirror and be proud. So it's not a total loss.

Don't know if this would work for you, but I tend to cut right through the politics with a scalpel when something like this happens.. Say what has happened (not 'what they have done'), and how it makes you feel (not 'how they made you feel), without accusing personally..

They cant pussyfoot around someone who is quite reasonably telling them exactly what has happened, and how it affects them, after all.

Actually, this (the talk) nearly happened already. When I first found out about the meeting, I said "that figures" and left it at that. When I found out about John, I quietly hit the roof. The people who KNOW me knew something was wrong. They asked. I said "they took credit for the database, then they took ownership of it away from me." They all quietly hit the roof, too. Well, not so much, as it was not so personal to them. But they were angry on my behalf ( ... )
