The Birdwatch Chronicles

Apr 20, 2009 16:24

Over the past few days, I have been taking pictures of the bird nest. Naturally, I'm here to share pictures of the nest!

Obviously, you can click the pictures for the full size.

As you can see, the wreath has been moved from the door to the far left on top of the flower rack.

There's the nest toward the bottom left.

Closer to the nest.

Two eggies!!! :D Yesterday, we actually discovered a third egg. I wonder how many bebbehs she's gonna have. :)

*** These next two photos were taken from inside the house, through the window, with half-open blinds so we can see but not disturb the mother bird. ***

After a bit of photoshop help from Rachel, the photo quality is up to snuff to see the momma! :)

So cute.

During these two pics, the bird was opening her beak frequently but staying silent. Rachel thinks she may have been laying another egg. Either way, it's really adorable. The eggs are left alone overnight, but during the day, the mother is in her nest the majority of the time. My parents even witnessed the father bird (with a bright red back, apparently) feeding the mother.

This is just the cutest thing ever, and she's a lucky little finch that we're a family of humans that would actually help protect her nest.
