I can not agree with you any more. That is why I really hate it when they automatically put on the tip just because you are in a large group.

What is there incentive for good service if they know they are getting a tip already.

I generally agree with you James. I will usually only not tip if the service was absolutly awful. I try to be mindful of the fact that it is not always the waiter/waitress fault, either the managment didn't staff enough so there is too few people for the amount of customers or the kitchen is just slacking off.
