*hugs* trues friend will naturally help you build your self esteem not give you flack. Maybe the friend who said it was hard to be your friend just meant it was hard to see you suffer and feel unable to help.

Maybe you can talk to her about it and get her to help you even if it's just that she's supportive or offers to be an ear if you need one. It might even bring you closer together? If she doesn't stick by you, then it's her loss, but I know it must hurt.

I have zero self esteem at the moment too and I had to train myself just to say 'thank you' when someone gave me a compliment. Even if everything in me wanted to reject it because I know it's not true.

I completely admire you for dating. It is HORRIBLE out there in the singles scene and often soul destroying. I hope you find someone lovely. I tried speed dating once. It was quite fascinating and because you only got ten minutes with each guy, it was easier to weed out the stranger ones. There were all sorts of guys there, even the odd pirate!

*hugs*
