Headcanoned Background and Story

Black★Matagi (Matagi from here on out) is not a seasoned fighter like many others are. The first fighter she had encountered had taken out her left eye in battle. It put an end to her learning how to fight with the gun part of her gunblade. It was a miracle she had survived the fight at all, but the fighter did not see the challenge in facing some a green arrival and left her. Matagi spent a lot of time hiding and resting after that before starting to scout out more.
Matagi is the kind to know of others but having yet to face them in battle. She watched many battles and slowly started to learn how to wield her gunblade as a very large sword. (She admires Black★Gold Saw’s ability to wield her King Saw as she does.) Some parts of the Otherworld were destroyed from her practicing, though not as much as some of the others.
She’s a newer fighter and adjusting to the Otherworld, and she’s forgetting how to be human little by little, more and more... despite not having memories of who she was/connected to. It lead her to seem a little spacey and odd amongst the others. That facet of her actually helped her survive, as only the most bloodthirsty bothered to fight her. She was a waste of time otherwise. Matagi had no problem with it.
Her Other Self is a shy girl who sleeps a lot. She probably lives in a large apartment complex up near the top. She’s probably a little spacey too.

Appearance
Matagi is of shorter stature yet thin build, surprising considering her speed and ability to wield her gunblade. She has short black hair that frames her one purple left eye and black eye-patched right eye. The hair constantly looks like she has just woken up from bed or someone has ruffled it completely. Peeking out from that mess of hair are a pair of black over the ear headphones, trimmed with gold. She appears to be watching but uninterested and not as eager to joining the battles her counterparts enjoy.
Over a bow tied spaghetti strap black blouse is a zip-up jacket with a white sailor suit color. Her left sleeve is adorned with a white armband with a black pentagram star on it. It’s held on by a safety pin. Her left hand is covered with a glove and has a thin black ribbon tied in a bow around her wrist. A similar bow is tied around her right wrist.
Going with the sailor suit theme, Matagi wears a short pleated black skirt that doesn’t get in the way of her climbing and observing. Tall, knee high black boots with a small heel complete her outfit.
Well there is that gunblade that is taller than her. It’s mostly a darkened mass of metal tipped with what looks to be an energy type shooting apparatus. However, Matagi doesn’t wield her gunblade as a gun, rather as a large sword, similar to Black★Gold Saw’s King Saw. What that tip is good for is ramming into the ground to help Matagi perch herself on top of the weapon for a better vantage point.

Personality
For someone from the Otherworld, Matagi can be seen as very reserved compared to the others. She’s not always looking for a fight. (Part of that is due to her weaker fighting abilities. If she did go out looking for fights, she wouldn’t survive.) Matagi is content to hang around in an area, listening to her headphones, just as much as she is watching a battle go on. Gathering intelligence is much more her style, though she does little with that information. She will fight, however. Checkered surfaces give her that urge to raise arms.
She’s quiet, polite, obedient, not terribly expressive, and a little blank and naive seeming. Matagi is not dumb by any means, but she doesn’t seem like she’s all there at times. In time this may change as she drifts further and further away from a more human like personality to that of a fighter. She is still adjusting to the change, despite not having memories of her time before becoming Black★Matagi. She’s a bit of an oddity.
Matagi enjoys things that have to do with the sky and night such as bird watching, kite flying, cloud watching, and star gazing. This can lead her to be found in the strangest places and liable to surprise others by hanging upside down, suddenly in view, and saying hello.
If one does manage to make her mad, watch out. A good way to do this is to be a pervert. Be prepared for a huge gunblade to the face.

Despite her appearance, Matagi has abnormal strength for her size. It lets her wield her gunblade, swinging it around like a giant sword. Swing it. She does does not fire her weapon. Her eyepatch throws off her aim. In time, she could learn to fire and aim correctly. For now, however, she is content with swinging it about. A large weapon helps with aiming.
Similarly, Matagi has great skill in getting to high places and vantage points from which to scout and watch. Climbing, running, and jumping are all things she is very good at. Additionally, Matagi will embed the tip of her gunblade into the ground, building, tree, rock, what have you in order to gain an even higher vantage point.
According to chat, the order of strength and fighting ability are as follows:: White★Rock Shooter > Black★Gold Saw = Strength > Black★Rock Shooter = Dead Master > Black★Devil Girl = Black★Matagi.
Matagi’s fighting ability still needs to be developed. In particular her aim, lack of depth perception, and blind spot needs to be overcome.
It is unknown if any of her eyes can burst into flame. (Fanarts depict it, but nothing canonical exists. It is a possibility since other ★ named fighters have shown to do so.) For now, we’ll say she hasn’t reached that level yet.
