I brake for no one.

My brakes are broken. Scary, I know. I have to pump them to get the car to stop, and I have to begin to stop way early in order to make sure I don't slam into the car in front me. Does anyone know what's wrong with them by that description? I'm trying to spend as little money as possible to fix them, so any help would be appreciated...I'm a poor ( Read more... )

It sounds like your brake pads are in need of replacement. And you need to get that fixed ASAP, because if you don't, pretty soon, even when you pump your brakes, they won't lock down.

You should come see Bigger than Dallas at the duff this saturday. It'll be fun.

the same thing just happened to me. i have a 97 civic and it was $185 to get mine done. it is worth it not to die though. broken brakes suck!!!

having a car is a double-edged sword. The best thing to do is to bite the bullet and fix it as soon as you can because problems with cars don't just go away, they compound. In the meantime, just drive uphill.

and then promptly gave it up, when I was loaned the Honda, whose brakes I proceeded to wear out.
