About an hour ago, my left pointer finger found itself slammed under the blade of the Natural Science and Mathematics Department's ancient paper cutter. After I felt the immediate pain and realized the possible severity of the situation, I quickly walked to the sink and washed my wound, which had yet to produce any blood. Aw, Valerie. I'm sorry to hear you got hurt. That does sound bad, but like you mention...could have been worse - WAY WORSE. I'm glad you're ok now and the best thing to do (and I'm sure you have heard this) is put it in cold water (or apply an ice pack) on and off for the next 24-36 hours to keep the swelling down. Then. deal with the bruise for the next week and just be happy your body is young and will bounce back in no time. Get well, Valerie!

How is the finger? I don't read my siblings' livejournals for a week and I return to find that two of them have dealt with worksite calamities! :o(
