Hollywood is amazing, exept for the prostutes and cocane peddlers, but the fact that we are the so called "cereal state" ( because apparently all that California contains are "fruits, nuts, and flakes") to the rest of the country is probably why I like it, because we are indeed, a little bit excentric. If there's anything I love about California, it is the abundance of Spanish speakers. Where better to practice your skills than at the Ventura swapmeet or even at your own neighborhood garage sales? Also, I love all of the Spanish or Spanglish names we have around here, such Avenida de los Arboles, El Camino Real, Calabasas, and countless others. It makes me smile whenever I can translate something on a street sign or within earshot. Spanish is part of what makes California so beautifully diverse. Hence, that is my contribution to your query.
