I will first apologize for being very lackadaisical towards Photographs right now, and I do realize there is a lot of stuff that needs to be fixed and dealt with. For right now, I want to address the huge piss LJ is taking on us via the style update ( Read more... )

I personally don't care too much whether the TCG moves to DW or stays on LJ since I have accounts in both sites, but I do see how moving to DW would be a benefit in the long run since that site is (at least right now) more stable than lj. However, I am very concerned that the community will take an hiatus to move when (at least in my opinion) there are way more important updates to do in the site than moving to another community just because this one looks ugly right now. I'm in favor of the hiatus, actually, but if this is used to update the site info ( ... )

I'm all for moving to dw! I've been able to withstand all of lj's atrocious updates in the past but this one is just too much (especially without the option to preview comments anymore or have subject lines in comments...). Not to mention dw's higher character limit and all the reasons everyone else have stated.

Though personally I also agree with the idea of using a hiatus to not only move the tcg but also do major updates to well, everything that needs updating. Having a co-owner(s) would also be good to make sure that that everything continues to be regularly updated instead of waiting a long time to do it all at once.

i'm cool with moving it! like someone suggested, we could have a pool of invite codes, if not being able to get accounts is a problem. i ought to have a few still lying about i could contribute for sure. i also don't mind the hiatus, since i'm really busy this time of year anyway, but i should be able to get back to responding as frequently as before in a bit

Honestly, I completely disagree with moving the community right now, mostly because there's way too many things that are wrong with it, and moving it will just make it worse. also, there are other options to keep the TCG running -changing the comment layout, changing the layout, etc- in LJ for as long as possible (so until LJ itself decides to become the facebook-look-alike thing it's going to be) and will give everyone time to either get a DW account or to move to their DW one. Also, DW has a one week only free-account thing (so no codes) and if anyone ever wants to join Photos in the future that doesn't have a DW account then would not be able to as easily as right now. And in my personal opinion, I'm not a fan of DW, I prefer IJ even if it's uglier than everything ( ... )

A+ is not enough for this. I am glad someone said that, I have been really bothered by how disorganized this place is getting and moving seems like such a random idea to me.

no one else is moving, why should Photos do? Specially when this is the only game that has not updated stuff, every other game I know and/or am part of is up to date, and trying their hardest to cope with the changes made by LJ, so, why can't we be the same?

Late... but so much love for this comment. I wholeheartedly agree. What site a TCG is on isn't going to influence it being run, the only thing that will do that is... organizing it and running it.

I'm in the minority that isn't too bothered by the changes with LJ. Only things I don't particularly like are the loss of a subject and the loss of the preview button. I find these comments to run a lot faster and a lot more smoothly. I also don't much like DW, mainly because of the lack of free names. If this change was permanent, I would be a lot more open to the idea, since it would be far easier for new members to join ( ... )

The point you're raising is very important, John, even though an update has been promised twice, it's has actually been the opposite and that's really not fair for players, especially newcomers who aren't even on the member list ( ... )
